View Full Version : Compositions
Iris March 20, 2008, 10:51 AM I keep on coming back to the computer because I'm desperately bored. I love teaching but I hate correcting, especially comps. And at the moment I have this enormous pile on my table. Any ideas on how to make this task a bit less arduous:mad:?
Alfonso March 20, 2008, 12:21 PM Maybe, everybody passed the exam and we all go out for the biggest party in the world... ;)
I'm studying all day, so I get bored from time to time. This forum helps me to get on with Spanish baroque poetry.
poli March 20, 2008, 12:54 PM you can correct compostions with gógorismos
Iris March 20, 2008, 01:05 PM What's that?
Alfonso March 20, 2008, 01:30 PM I think Poli means gongorismos which are not the best way to correct an English composition, but it's not impossible.
Iris March 20, 2008, 01:39 PM To correct an English composition...You have my permission to hate me.:)
Alfonso March 20, 2008, 01:47 PM Thanks a lot for your correction, Iris! I've already edited it. I'm not hating anybody, for the moment ;). I'm learning a lot with your corrections!
Jane March 20, 2008, 01:55 PM Hey Iris,
like Alfonso suggested, pass everybody and no one will hate you at least not your students and any way not right away. :D
Iris March 20, 2008, 02:01 PM I always give everybody a pass, but I have to correct them all the same!
Elaina March 25, 2008, 08:21 AM Have fun with it!
Make it a class project and have them correct each other's composition. Bring a treat. Get them all involved. Have them read a few. It can be a lot of fun!!
Elaina:p
Iris March 25, 2008, 09:11 AM Great idea, thanks.:p:):D
sosia March 26, 2008, 02:42 PM My father was a teacher, and he always corrected Saturday afternoon, seeing a western.
Look for a movie with no dialogues/plot and see it while correcting.
But sometimes my father laugh hard because some students writed dummy things.
greetings :D
Iris March 26, 2008, 04:39 PM I know I shouldn't, but I laugh myself sometimes too. But I cannot correct and do something else at the same time. My sister used to watch the telly while she studied, I never understood how she managed it.
Tomisimo March 28, 2008, 02:01 AM Iris, you could scan them into the computer and then we could help you with the corrections, then you just print them out again and you´re done :D (Or maybe that's overly complicated).
Iris March 28, 2008, 03:28 AM It would feel too cheeky...But thanks all the same.;)
