This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word (http://daily.tomisimo.org/) for October 2, 2008

madera - feminine noun (la) - wood. Look up madera in the dictionary (http://www.tomisimo.org/dictionary/spanish_english/madera)

Si la madera sube de precio, lo construiré de piedra.
If wood prices go up I'll build it out of stone.

If what I type on the daily word is irrelevent to the thread - please forgive or correct me !

But have you heard the saying 'put the wood in the hole' which again is english slang for 'shut the door'

Sorry, I'm a week late in responding to you. No, I've never heard that saying before, so thanks for posting it! :)
