¿Te parezco a Google?
|
Google isn't a person, so no personal 'a' is needed before it. What are you trying to say?
|
People always ask me questions about their computer. I said "Do I look like Google?".
|
I suppose it's conceivable that someone would say it that way, but I would wait to see what a native speaker says.
Do I look like Google?" could mean something like, "Do I look like a search engine?" |
Yes, because they must think I am Google because I am supposed to have the answer to everything about computers.

There are hits on the internet for 'parezco Google'.

¿Te crees que soy Google?
¿Te crees que yo soy Don Google? (Making "Google" to be a "Sir"... ;-) ¿Quién te crees que soy yo? ¿Google? ¿Un motor de búsqueda? Es lo que yo diría. ¿Te crees que soy una enciclopedia? You may ask "¿Me parezco a Google?" -- This would be the case where you're using Google as if it were a person, since you're making the comparison with yourself.
The change of "te" for "me" is because you're asking if you are the one that looks like Google. In any case, "te me parezco a..." ("Do you think I look like..."), but then Pablo's suggestions would be more natural instead. By the way, Mexicans would prefer "¿crees que soy Google?" without "te", as we feel "te crees" slightly aggressive, but we know it's not necessarily so; it's just a regional preference. :) Other ways to say it: - ¿Me ves cara de Google? -> Do you think my face looks like Google's? - ¿Tengo cara de Google? -> Does my face look like Google's? Edit: If you say "parezco Google", I'm comparing my behavior or work to the functions Google performs, instead of comparing the search engine to me as a person like in "me parezco a Google". - Parezco Google. Todo el mundo me pregunta cosas de su computadora. -> I feel like Google. Everyone asks me questions about their computer. |
¡Sí, señora!

"Se creen que soy Wikipedia/Google..."
Locally "Me usan de Google..." "Me tienen de Google..." where Google is replacing another non neutral word, adding a whole new meaning to it "they take advantage of me". |
