Subjunctive with 'hay'

¿Hay alguien que la sepa? (i.e. la respuesta)

On the other hand there's something similar to English "would you like something to drink?" and "do you want anything to drink?" which I was taught, the first one favours an affirmative answer while the second one discourages it a bit. If some bit of information has been given in class and a teacher asks about it and doesn't get any answer, the use of "¿Hay alguien que la sepa?" means that he or she doesn't expect someone to know it or rather he or she is baffled no-one knows it. But if the teacher asks "¿Hay alguien que la sabe?" it means there's some expectation of a positive reply.
