Jokes can teach you languages
I was thinking in this kind of joke:
Hace trajes a medida ... a medida que se los van encargando. He makes tailored suits ... That shows a wordplay with the adjectival phrase "a medida" (bespoke, tailored. specially made) and the conjunctive phrase "a medida que" (as...). Those who are learning this here may practice it with the following joke: Crea soluciones a medida ... a medida que se van presentando los problemas There are lots of similar jokes in Spanish Su intenciĆ³n es pura ... pura novela puro ---> pure, clean, honest puro ---> unadulterated, 100% pura novela ---> unadulterated BS; a snow job; fictional Are there similar jokes in English that can teach vocabulary? |
