Estamos apañados
Does anyone know what this means?
|
We're done for.
|
I concur.
Also: We've been caught / We've been found out / We're screwed. |
For me it would mean to be undercover, or to cover up, one's or someone else's actions etc.
|
I know what it means, but it's a very very difficult idiom to explain, even in spanish.
It's an interjection. Like ¡Dios mío! ¡Vaya por Dios! and such. It's used in colloquial situations, and has the connotation of doubt about what will you do in the future, or what will happen. The most similar idioms in spanish I can find are: ¡Lo que nos espera! or ¡Lo que se nos viene encima! |
From what I can deduce from all your definitions, it's kind of like-Oh no, what's in store for us now?
|
Yes, it is. But a little more humoristic. When you say "estamos apañados", you are laughing a bit at yourself or at the situation.
|
Estamos apañados : We're doomed, in a funny way :D
Agree with all. an example: Dos profesores leen en el periódico noticias sobre el futuro de la educación. Profesor A: Aquí dice que en el futuro los colegios enseñarán dos idiomas, informática, y usarán internet. Profesor B. Estamos apañados..... Saludos :D |
Is estás empañdo synonimous to vas dado?
|
Yes, I think they are similar.
For me it's the same if somebody says to me "estás apañado" or "vas dado" Saludos :D |
