Fail to appear

Any corrections for the following sentence

Note : Students are asked to turn up 20 minutes before their assigned time in case somebody before you fails to appear.

Students are asked to show up 20 minutes before their assigned time in case somebody else scheduled before them doesn't show/fails to show.
