How do you say this in Spanish?

I just began Spanish at school and our teacher wanted to make posters that encourage others to pursue Spanish, I wanted to put the phrase, "I speak Spanish and so can you!"

What would that be in Spanish?

Thanks : )

Welcome to the forums!

We'd like to see you give translation a try. I would bet that you already know a few of the words.

hablar = (to) speak (infinitive - non-conjugated)
hablo = I speak (conjugated - 1st-person singular, present indicative tense)
español = Spanish (note that language names are written in lowercase in Spanish)

y = and
también = too, also
poder (hablarlo) = (to) be able (to speak it) (infinitive + suffixed pronoun)
puedes (hablarlo) = you can (speak it) (conjugated - 2nd-person singular, present indicative tense)

Putting it all together:
Hablo español y también puedes (hablarlo).

(There's no reason to use the subject pronouns '(yo' and '' because the conjugated verb endings already convey the person in the present indicative tense.)

Hope the grammar lesson didn't scare you away, but I think it's essential to understand what's going on with the words. You can't use the same sentence if your audience changes from a familiar individual to more than one person or other individuals that aren't your friends. You can't use the same first clause if you aren't the subject. So, there has to be some knowledge about grammar in order to learn how to use the vocabulary. :)

Traducción más libre e ideal en Castellano:

"Si yo hablo español tú también puedes"
