To clear something up, because I had been under this impression when I started learning Spanish in school, "llama" does not mean name. It's from the verb llamar, meaning to call.

The first day of class you probably learned to say "me llamo (whatever your name is) -- what this literally means is "I call myself (whatever name)" but it's more natural than saying "Mi nombre es (your name). When you add the "me" it means the verb went to "llamarse" meaning "to call oneself". I know this sounds confusing, but all you have to know is that "llamo" or "llama" doesn't actually mean name. I can't count how often I said "me llamo es___" or made the same mistake as you did in your trials above so many times when I started Spanish, thinking it means "My name is____" because teachers just say it means name :P
