Amanecer

Ahora amanece una hora antes. How do we say that in English?

AngelicaDeAlquezar February 17, 2011 04:45 PM

These days it's dawning one hour earlier.
These days the sun is rising one hour earlier.
These days the daybreak is happening one hour earlier.

Can we say, It gets light one hour earlier????

pjt33 February 17, 2011 05:02 PM

Yes. Although replacing "one" with "an" will sound more idiomatic.

Yep. In fact, that is the most common way I hear it.

I have a doubt.

The word dawn means Amanecer.
Therefore I can write Today dawned earlier than yesterday, I know that is impossible, just it's an only a instance for correcting me.

Yours truly.
