el imperfecto o el indefinido con "hasta que"

¿Me podrían decir si está bien lo que está en español, por favor? La reunión era/estaba muy divertida. Había toda clase de comida y (de) música. Todos hablaban, bailaban y se divertían mucho hasta que empezó a llover y todo se arruinió.=The reunion was really/very fun. There were all kinds of food and music. Everyone was talking, dancing, and having a lot of fun until it started to rain and everything was/got ruined. La reunión era/estaba/estaba siendo muy divertida hasta que empezó a llover.=The reunion was really fun until it started to rain La reunión fue/estuvo muy divertida hasta que empezó a llover=The reunion was really fun until it started to rain La reunión fue/estuvo muy divertida. Creo que esta pregunta un hablante nativo podrá contestarla mejor que yo. But I would lean toward saying:
La reunión/fiesta fue muy divertida hasta que empezó a llover. I would definitely say the option of "la reunión estaba siendo muy divertida" sounds wrong. My $0.02 :) |
Second one of these phrases can be followed by hasta que or by cuando. |

Gracias, Elaina, sólo quería evitar la ambigüedad que, bajo mi punto de vista, despierta tu duda. Para mí, no sólo es correcta, es que, además, no suena mal (o no suena mal porque no es incorrecta). Lo que ocurre, quizá, es que las formas compuestas no se usan en gran parte del ámbito hispanohablante. No obstante, creo que el uso del imperfecto es el más enigmático de todos los usos verbales en español. ;)
