Nunca es tarde si la dicha es buena

This means it´s never too late if the purpose of the action is a good one.
In ENGLISH?

Sé que hay un buen dicho en inglés, no me recuerdo ahora.. quizá

Better late than never

"good fortune is worth waiting for.", or better, perhaps: "all good things
come to those who wait.".

Used in contexts like:
I´m 40, I know I´m old to learn English but it´s never too late if the fortune is good
Any ideas?

This is strange: my dictionary says

nunca es tarde si la dicha es buena means better late than never

but I don't think that this can be correct. I think the Spanish means It is never too late if the circumstances are right, but better late than never means something completely different.

Anybody?

It means mejor tarde que nunca, que tampoco es que este muy desencaminado, pero no es lo más exacto.
