Toro bravo

I'm looking for translation for these two:
toro bravo
toro de pelo negro

I'm sure they don't translate as
fierce bull
black-haired bull

Many thanks in advance.

Without any context, the literal translations are correct.

Do you have the context that makes you think the phrases have another meaning?

Apolgies Rusty, I should have included this with my initial question.

A 'black-haired bull' can be certainly be used.
For the second, I would go with '(Spanish) Fighting Bulls'.

I agree with Rusty. The physical description of the bull as a black-haired one is literal, since there must be also brown bulls.
I also agree that "fighting bulls" or "fierce bulls" may be used for "toros bravos", because the tame ones (there are) can't be used for bull fighting. It's important that the business that breed bulls for this activity "guarantee" that the bull will actually charge against the toreador; the ones that won't be interested are boring to watch for the fans.
