Best Grammar Book?

I need the best grammar book out there to help me with my Spanish! My head swirls with all kinds of rules and whatnot, but I can't seem to get a good foundation with all of it. I need something that is easy to understand and has plenty of good exercises.

I've tried to browse Amazon and Ebay, but I just don't which ones are the best and most helpful! :(

I can't help you by recommending you a good book of Spanish grammar for foreigner students. But I can give you this link from Spanish Education Department with some links about Spanish studies and some editorials. I hope it'll be helpful in anyway :)

I'm enjoying the Practice Makes Perfect series purchased on Amazon. I have Spanish Verb Tenses and Complete Spanish Grammar. I don't find them overwhelming and there are plenty of exercises.

Practice is good for learning. It's necessary to do a lot of exercises to learn something :)

There is a series called "USO" de la gramática española de Francisca castro, Edelsa. Elemental, intermedio y avanzado, with plenty of exercises I used them once when I taught Spanish in Paris and they are great.

If you want more practise there´s one called La grammaire a través de los ejercicios, which is very good too, but you have to understand French.

I have found a good site where you can hear and read news items spoken slowly, with vocabulary lists and transcripts. There are regular Grammar lessons with questions. You can learn on line the different verb tenses. The latest ones are about irregular preterites and their usage. You get a lot for free, but need to enrol for the more advanced stuff. The site is called lingolex. Google will find for you.
