I found this article very interesting. The video clip in Spanish about the flooding of the Mediterranean basin is good listening practice, as is the second clip about the tunnel between Spain and Africa across the Straits of Gibraltar. The third one is in French.

Related to this is the news report here about the new study showing that it only took two years for the whole of the Mediterranean to fill up. It must have been awesome.

Anyway, its all good reading and listening practice. :)
