Ayer tuve clase
I know there's something wrong with this sentence, but I don't know how to make it right :/ Help?
"Ayer tuve clase de español un trabajo en grupo sobre la capital de España" Basically, I'm trying to say that I had spanish yesterday and that we worked together in groups about the capital of Spain.. I know it's not right!! :p |
Yo diría ...
Ayer, en la clase de español, trabajamos en grupos para aprender algo de la capital de España. |
Quote:
Ayer tube una clase de español, y tube que trabajar en grupo y nosotros hicimos una historia sobre la capital de España. I know that it's different but, I feel to it's corrects because, your own text almost not sence in itself build.:) |

Why is trabajamos used
instead of trabajábamos?
|
The preterite tense was used because the working had an end.
|
I was thinking present tense
forgot that the preterite had same ending.
What a jerk! |
Trabajamos=we had worked / we worked
Trabajabamos=we had been working/we were working Tricky field, tenses. Also difficult for Spanish speakers, the english tenses. For example, the distribution going to vs will...lots of rules and at the end of the day a big percentage of sentences would admit both. |
