a caso te conozco
Hi
I texted someone in spanish, and she responded quien eres. a caso te conozco what does "a caso" mean here? "in case I know you"? from some googling, I find that it corresponds to "even" in English, like "I don't even know you"? |
Hi,
Her response contains two questions back to back. Correctly typed, the first question is "¿Quién eres?" This means "Who are you?" Note that all questions in Spanish have both an opening and a closing question mark, and the first word should begin with a capital letter. If the question starts with an interrogative pronoun, as it does in this case, the pronoun is written with an accent mark over its stressed vowel. Written correctly, the second question is "¿Acaso te conozco?" It means "Do I know you?" That first word is an adverb. It is there for emphasis. (If you wanted a more literal translation, it would be "Do I know you, by chance?") Hope that helps. |
