First off

Hi!

Very new to the forum, so here goes my first question.

How does one say "First off," " in spanish?

For example, "First off I had to go to the store"
"First off, you're an idiot!" Etc etc

All the phrases you have, lay 'em on me, I'm all ears!

And my second question is about DAR

I only know to ways to use DAR (to give something), and DAR una vuelta (To have a walk)

In what ways can you use DAR?

I appreciate all help, thank you so much in advance!

Primero que nada

The uses of dar is too broad a subject to give you a simple answer.

There are many idiomatic expressions that use it ('dar una vuelta' being just one, and it doesn't only mean 'take a walk'). You can also check out the 'Idioms' section to see what expressions contain 'dar', like 'dar en el clavo'.

Perhaps you could do a search to see what threads contain dar, and you may want to check out how it's conjugated to search for all its variations.

Tambien se puede usar:
"Antes de nada" o "Antes que nada" que son de uso habitual.

Open up another thread (you should only ask one question per thread) about your 'dar' question, but try to be as specific as possible. Asking how 'dar' can be used is not a specific question.
