Chocolate (candy) & Hot chocolate
I know that hot chocolate is "el chocolate"....but what would the candy chocolate be....."el chocolate" too??:confused:
|
Chocolates (chocolate candies) = bombones (a single piece = bombón)
A cup of hot chocolate = Una taza de chocolate Chocolate bar (like Snickers) = chocolatina Chocolate bar (scored with pieces you break off and eat) = tableta de chocolate (individual squares = onzas o pastillas de la tableta) Milk chocolate = chocolate con leche Some of these words are regional. Check with the locals to know what their words are. |
I have to say hot chocolate is very different from the Spanish chocolate a la taza that we eat with churros. Our version is a lot thicker and a real no-no for dieters, whereas a cup of Ovaltine has less than 40 cals.

Ovaltine es una marca de chocolate en polvo. You pour the powder into milk, sitr and, voilà, you have chocolate milk.
