Desarrollarse (set)

Hi everyone

I just wanted to check that I've chosen the correct translation for "set" in the sense of picking a location for something.

I want to say "Set the scene at the zoo."

Se desarrolla (se desarrolle) la escena el el zoológico.

Aside from the choice of "desarrollarse," I'm not sure if I've used the imperative tense correctly. "Se desarrolla" sounds funny, although I'm not sure why.

Thanks

I would use the verb colocar.

In the imperative, the pronoun 'se' is suffixed and an accent mark is used to maintain proper stress.

I agree with poli that 'colocar', or 'poner', would be the verb to use.

I would say,

Establece la escena en el zoo.

Desarrolla la escena en el zoológico.

You could also say,

Haz que la escena se desarrolle en el zoo.

But seems slightly cumbersome, length-wise.

More descriptive:

La escena tiene lugar en el zoo.

A bit of additional context would help to say what would flow better.

Saludos cordiales.

Cheers. Thanks.

There's not really much context. I was just making a note to myself to set the scene on a different day, when I realised I didn't know how to say "set" in Spanish.

Ah, you're welcome.

Well, now you're all set! ;) :D
