terreno - masculine noun (el) - property, land, lot, tract, field. Look up terreno in the dictionary

Compramos un terreno en el bosque para ir a acampar.
We bought a piece of land in the woods to go camping.

Is terreno a cognate? it looks like terrain..... :thinking:

Indeed it is. In fact, the Spanish word for terrain is terreno.

Yep, you got it. But it doesn't correspond with terrain in all the meanings of the word. I should have added terrain to the list of translations.
