Sorry, it's a bit basic.

Hi,

I'd like some help with a natural-sounding translation for these phrases, please:

Sorry, it's a bit basic. / Sorry, the place is a bit basic.

Context: an apartment to let is functional and clean, but a bit utilitarian/bare/sparse.

Thank you.

Hi BeeBee,

Welcome to the forums.

Sorry, but we aren't a free translation service.
We prefer it if you try your own hand at translation first and then we'll help you make it sound just right for your audience.

I'll provide you with the translation for one word and will explain a few things that may be of some help with your own attempt.

In both of your phrases, the words 'it' and 'the place' reference the same thing. Therefore, there's no real need to have two translations. However, if you use 'the place', the word 'basic' would be 'sencillo'. The ending of the adjective agrees in gender with the masculine Spanish equivalent of the noun 'place'.
The English subject pronoun 'it' is never translated into Spanish. However, the subject 'place' would need to be translated. So, you either need or don't need a subject, and the linking verb is the same.
The word 'bit' could be changed to 'little' in English. This alternative will help you get the right Spanish word.
