Año de nieves, año de bienes
This proverb means the year that snows a lot, the crop is good.
Do you have one in English? |
In the "Concise Dictionary of European proverbs" I found the English versions of this saying,
http://books.google.com/books?id=HJ_...nes%22&f=false A good winter brings a good summer. A snow year, a good year. A snow year, a rich year. A year of snow, a year of plenty. Under water famine, under snow bread. I like one of the French versions, Anée neigeuse, anée frutueuse. |
