Puerto Rico

¡Hola! Voy a Puerto Rico este verano. ¿Que hay dialectos y cultura? Voy a ayudar a las familias con mi iglesia y estoy muy emocionada! :)

Please feel free to correct any errors!

I think you meant "¿Cómo son el dialecto y la cultura?" instead of what you wrote. :)

English is widely spoken in Puerto Rico. If your Spanish fails you, it's no
problem.

Do you think the poor part of Puerto Rico will speak english? because we're going there to help build houses and cook for the poor (but extremely nice) people.

I'm not positive, but half of Puerto Rico has family in NYC or had lived there in the past. Anglo culture is very powerful there.

Good Luck, PureChristi. If you can possibly bring along a set of double-six dominoes (be sure they have white tiles and black dots, not the other style commonly sold in toy stores) you'll open the door to making friends, and learning Spanish, as they teach you the game. It worked for me!
