no pilla una

Does no pilla una mean don't fool yourself?

Elaina July 24, 2008 02:49 PM

Sometimes when you are using a play of words you try to send a message to someone hoping they will understand what you are saying by reading between the lines............

well....

No pilla una............means not grasping (catching) what is being said

coger, tomar, etc.......

You can use the word no pilla una when something you do bad or other person.

No podemos entender lo que escribiste que puse entre los signos de interrogación abajo, Crotalito.

You can use the phrase no pilla una when :good:
:?: something you do bad or other person.:?:

¿Querías decir algo como, 'you do something bad to another person.'?

Like, for example, le pilló el ladrón (the thief robbed him)?

Agree with Elaina.
Other meaning (similar as Elaina's)
For example, I and my wife have a casual conversation with other friends.
At the end of the conversation, my wife can told me if one was angry, or love another, or else (the girls are very perceptive to this kind of stuff) "y yo no pillo ni una" (and I'm not able to see anything).
Saludos :D
