Frases Scientifico

So, I'm currently in a lab and we have a fair number of people who speak Spanish. I want to be able to maintain a conversation with them and not butcher the pronunciation or word usage. Would anyone be able to help translate a few frases? Google Translate has become a lot better since it first came online but still can be incorrect or too loose with its translations.

"How is your research going?"

"Are you reading up on the literature?"

"How is writing your paper going?"

"What sort of bacterial cells are you working with?"

"The centrifuge was not working"

"I am running out of words and phrases"

Hi. Please post your own attempts to translate and we will help you with corrections and explanations if needed. :)

Fair enough :D

I mostly used Google translate and am surprised at how many phrases and idioms we use in daily life.

"How is your research going?" - ¿Cómo está su investigación va

"Are you reading up on the literature?" - estás leyendo la literatura científica?

"Are you writing? How is that going?" - estás escribiendo? ¿Como va eso?

"What bacteria are you working with?" - qué tipo de bacteria está usando?

"The centrifuge was not working" - la centrífuga no está funcionando

"I am reaching my limit of Spanish vocabulary" - Estoy llegando a mi límite del vocabulario español/castellano.
