Bury (noun)
Hi,
Somehow I haven't been able to find it online. I mean places like Banbury Cross and Bury St Edmunds. |
There's plenty of online information if you search for "Bury Place Name Meaning."
Bury is an Old English place name, meaning 'fortified enclosure', like a 'fort' or 'stronghold'. |
Thanks! So Newbury and Newcastle is much the same thing :o
Fornost Erain is Norbury of the Kings, in the same line. |
