Chairman vs CEO

Hi friends

Could anybody explain to me the differences between a chairman and a CEO? I know both are officials (heads) in a company, but I donĀ“t understand who is the real boss, and what are the duties of each one.

Thanks in advance.

They are both the same thing,

The highest-ranking executive in a corporation.

Re: Chairman vs CEO

CEO stands for Chief Executive Officer and has the same responsibilities as a chairman. Where each one is used depends on the company you're talking about and how their management structure is organized. It's mainly a matter of semantics.
