cerro (masculine noun (el)) — hill. Look up cerro in the dictionary

Hay un cerro atrás de mi casa y cada vez que llueve baja mucha agua.
There is a hill behind my house and every time it rains, a lot of water comes down it.

I have heard the word cerro, but over here we usually say colina.

En chile cuando alguien molesta mucho, lo mandamos " a la punta del cerro"
En chilensis sería "ándate a la punta'el cerro" :)

"Viejos (son) los cerros y reverdecen", say the elderly people when they mean their age may well be old, but they still have the energy and capabilities to do many things younger people do. ;)

Has anyone heard the expression "andar por los cerros de Úbeda"?

Yo he oído 'irse por los cerros de Úbeda' meaning to digress.

Aquí decimos 'Vete a freir espárragos' u otras cosas peores.

Voy a dormir entonces soñar de las grandes colinas verdes de Irlanda. Ahí me sentaré para mirar el oleaje del mar lentamente se arrastra hacia la arena blanca de la playa bonita en la que me relajo sin problemas. ES un buen sueño para mí:)
