Right. You can translate "colonia" as "neightborhood" or even "part of the city", but in addresses, it's not used at all.

That happens sometimes over here too. But they will be slightly different, like Madision Ave, Madison St, Madison Blvd, Madison Ct, Madison Cr, Madison Rd. etc. :)

Yes, I've seen lots of cities where the avenues are numbered and the streets are named and in alphabetical order.
