I saw somewhere that the Spanish word for dry wall is mampostería, but dictionaries disagree. Is the best term panel de yeso?

PJT33 is right. Generalizations are dangerous, but to my ear, well spoken Spanish from the Americas, the likes of which is often spoken in Mexico, sounds more straight forward than Iberian Spanish....

This is an English usage that, when translated, doesn't seem to work. I have never really attempted to say it in Spanish, but would you say, debería haber sabido? It sounds awful to me.
