Mexicans practically never use "encontrarse" like this and the question may have this double meaning, but the context will make it clear and it will be understood anyway.



By the way, now that Robin pointed out "quedar", Mexicans also use "quedar de verse con alguien":

- ¿Qué te parece si quedamos de vernos en el parque?
- ¿Dónde quedaste de ver a Juan?
- Quedamos de vernos en la cafetería.
