In Mexico:

- "Aretes de poste" is the right specific description of them. We usually just say "aretes" for all kinds of earrings, unless we need to say which kind; there are also "aretes de gancho" and "aretes de clip". I think if you say "aretes de broquel" you'll be understood as well.
- "Tachón" is a cross-out or a smudge made to hide a mistake on a text.
- "Poste", used alone, is a street post, like those used for public lighting and holding cables.
- "Broqueles", said like that, are the smallest ones, usually for babies. (Like the ones in the picture.) They're also called "dormilonas", but that's not heard as often.
