La reunión era/estaba muy divertida. Había toda clase de comida y (de) música. Todos hablaban, bailaban y se divertían mucho hasta que empezó a llover y todo se arruinió.=The reunion was really/very fun. There were all kinds of food and music. Everyone was talking, dancing, and having a lot of fun until it started to rain and everything was/got ruined.
La reunión era/estaba/estaba siendo muy divertida hasta que empezó a llover.=The reunion was really fun until it started to rain
La reunión fue/estuvo muy divertida hasta que empezó a llover=The reunion was really fun until it started to rain
