If by "without being didactic" you meant "without a deliberate intention to teach and/or moralize", that's comes naturally from any of many possible interpretations.
If we go beyond the nightmare of analyzing who wanted to say what in those articles à la Frankenstein, it all boils to Kahlo teaching valuable things without even trying to. I don't know how to put it into words, but a sort of "masterdom in the eye of any beholder, and not by playing-the-master" (I'm afraid that in English master and doctor are too far from teacher, so I don't know if I manage to convey the meaning)
