Hospiciano = huérfano que ha vivido o vive en un hospicio. Not all the orphans live in an orphanage.
Anyway, hospiciano and hospicio are words a bit old-fashioned. You won't find them in common speech, but in novels surely (above all if you read Dickens in Spanish
). We say "orfelinato" or "orfanato" instead of "hospicio". Though there aren't orphanages here in Spain nowadays. All the children live in flats, with guardians (tutores
); that's much better for them
