¡Bienvenida Viv!
Enjoy your learning around here. I hope I don't go over your head, but just a couple of notes here, on what you wrote,
I love the beach. Quiero la playa. In Spain you'd say "Me encanta la playa" or "Me gusta mucho la playa" (I really like [love] the beach, or I enjoy the beach very much.)
No me gusto la cuidad.
No me gusta la ciudad. (I do not like the city.)
Quiero un cobaya (I want a guinea pig.)
Quiero a mi marido (I love my husband.)

The verb "querer" in Spanish has several meanings and usages, one expresses love, liking or affection; another one expresses desire, intention, or will.
Hope that helps. Let us know your questions.
