Question "Inhalar" or "Inspirar"

Hello!

I'm getting a tattoo in spanish, and I want it to say: "Inhale courage, exhale fear."
There was a spanish translation on the internet that said: "Respira coraje, exhala miedo."
But: "Respirar" means "to breathe", am I right? it does not mean "Breath in" or "Inhale"?
I asked my spanish teacher and he suggested: "Inspira coraje, expira miedo".

Now I am even more confused. What is the difference between "inhala" and "inspira"??
Which translation do you suggest? It is really important for me to fully understand its meaning, since I am getting a tattoo of it.

Thank you
