I've looked rooster up in a dictionary and it said that it was "gallo" in AmE. I've seen also cock and cockerel. Now I'm not sure what's the word for BrE.
Yes, I should use "deny", but as I was going to use "deny" later, I was looking for a synonymous to avoid redundancy.
