BTW Ese, generalmente when a Spanish words end in the letter "a" it is femenine and needs
the feminine article la. But there are exceptions such as el dia. Also el problema,
el programa etc. and then the reverse with la foto=the picture. But la fotografía
which follows the rule.
Modelo can be either masculine or feminine when referring
to a human model, but masculine in other uses (such as when referring to a model airplane).
Words whose meaning vary depending on the gender. For example, in some areas,
la radio means
"radio," while
el radio means "radius" or "radium." Sometimes
la radio is used to refer to the
communications medium and
el radio for a radio set. Some masculine words that come from Greek
end in
-a (often
-ma). Most of these words have English cognates. (A cognate is a word that can be
recognized in both languages.)
