¡Gracias Robin!

Hmmmm ok so 'resultar' is more often used when something actually tirns out to be a certain way, and 'parecer' more to express it seems to be in a certain way (but more often than not this is not certain (yet)

I think the 5th meaning of 'resultar' is giving me the most problems because I think in that sense you can use 'resultar' and 'aparecer' interchangeably? But if you want to stress that you are not sure about something it is better then to use 'parecer' instead of 'resultar' to avoid confusion??

As for this:
Aparecer,manifestarse o comprobarse una cosa:
¿ahora resulta que nadie va a ir?
col. Ser atractiva una persona:
no es guapa,pero resulta.

I don't quite understand what 'resulta' means in this case?
'She is not pretty but...? it works??
