I wouldn't dare to translate into English (and I don't know J. V. either). I don't know what she is trying to say, but I don't like to be compared with a paper. A paper napkin or a light bill are just useful things and I don't consider myself a useful thing (or maybe I am, or perhaps I'm not even a useful thing
). Paper napkins are thrown into the dustbin after being used...
And I don't like either to be compared with the bark of a tree, which could mean a superficial thing.
And nothing to do an infraction or the pages of a bible with the fact of being honest.
