While 'dying alive' is the literal translation, I have never heard this used in English.
We would say 'heaven on earth' or 'be in heaven'.
There's a song written in 1935 called "I'm in Heaven" (also known as "Cheek to Cheek").
"Heaven, I'm in Heaven, And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak, And I seem to find the happiness I seek, When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek."
This, I believe, is the translation of 'morir en vida.'
