I agree with Poli. In the English speaking world, "Thanks in advance" implies a sentiment similar to "I am relying on your help and expect to get it". Even between friends, it should be used sparingly. And if used, only in written form or in a voice mail, never spoken aloud.

It would probably be even ruder in Spanish.
