So, when using one of your phrases in a sentence, it could be like this: Me importa un pepino el juego de fútbol.   (¡¡A mí también!!)  Or would I use "sobre" or some other connector word?
While I was typing this, a friend in Uruguay IM'ed me and at one point during the conversation, she said "no entiendo un pepino".
"No entender un pepino" means not to understand anything.
By the way - I don't believe that anyone has mentioned the English idiom: cool as a cucumber. Is there something similar in Spanish? |

As for "cool as a cucumber", we say "fresco/fresca como (una) lechuga".
... (por cierto, las lechugas tampoco engordan)
