Just to make sure...
From the novel in Spanish you write in Spanish on a notebook, then on another notebook you translate to English so that you can understand what your reading/transcribing. Then upon understanding what you are reading, you should read aloud in Spanish what you transcribed.
Once you have a whole paragraph you should read it aloud while you recording yourself in order to revise it and make corrections to your speech in Spanish (according to you).
To recap and even improve the idea:
You should choose a novel in Spanish, hopefully one that you have already read in English and that you liked it a lot. And ideally a novel that it also available in Spanish in narrated form by a native. That way you can always check yourself against the "real" thing.
