Debiera ser la/las porque se refiere a las luces. Creo que la gente se confunde por lo de "los" focos, pero el foco es de donde sale "la" luz, Right?

En México es "la", por la razón que expresó chileno: se refiere a la luz.

A thousand apologies, folks: I just rechecked wordreference.com, and found that I mis-read, or read too quickly: the entry actually says that it's feminine, and that it's used primarily in Mexico and in Colombia.
