"Fue realmente bueno ver a nuestra familia y pasar (quality)? tiempo con ellos y ponerse al día con amigos viejos."

pasar tiempo que vale la pena


Amigos viejos means friends who are elderly. I would use viejos amigos in this case. If I'm wrong I suspect I will be corrected.
