Competence vs Competences
I know how to pronounce competence /ˈkɒmpɪtəns/ my question is how do I pronounce the plural, where does the stress fall? 1st syllable or 3rd one?
Thanks in advance. ![]() |

The plural is a 4 syllable word, comp - it - tense - siz .. stress sounds to me when I say it outloud on the last syllable, but I could be wrong.

I would still stress the first syllable myself, making it pro-proparoxytone (=sobresdrújulo)

Primary stress on first syllable, secondary on third.
