Tualar and Chularcitos

Tualar and Chularcitos are in California. They were named by the Spanish conquistadores, but what do these two words mean?

I got the names wrong. It is Chualar, which got its name because it was prettyand Tularcitos because of the reeds in the swamp...

According to some sources, Chualar, Monterey County, California, got its name from the indigenous word that means 'place where chual (California goosefoot/soap plant) grows'. Another source quotes pigweed as the name of the plant.
The Spanish adapted the native name.

Tularcitos, the Spanish word for little tules (large bulrushes found in marshes), came from the Nahuatl word tōlin.

I went hunting for the Oaxacan dialect and couldn't find it. What I found was that there are 16 indigenous languages spoken in Oaxaca. Which of those languages is of interest to you?

• Mixteca - 320,000 speakers and 29 dialects throughout Oaxaca, Guerrero and Puebla

• Chinanteco - 77,000 speakers and 6 dialects
• Mixe - 70,000 speakers and 4 dialects
• Amuzgo - 20,000 speakers in Oaxaca and Guerrero
• Chatino - 20,000 speakers and 3 dialects
• Zoque - 20,000 speakers in Oaxaca, Chiapas and Tabasco
• Chicateco - 14,000 speakers
• Popolaca - 12,000 speakers in Puebla and Oaxaca
